Strategic Consulting using LCM

Strategic Consulting using LCM

Sometimes the hardest challenge when someone asks for your help is to know where they’ve been and where they’re going.

You see, strategic consulting is all about providing a roadmap for your client to follow. This roadmap needs to be detailed enough that they can use it as a guide, yet high level enough so they can alter it should the need arise.

There are many frameworks for offering strategic consulting. The one that I prefer is called Lifecycle Marketing (LCM).

The 7 Stages of Lifecycle Marketing

Lifecycle Marketing for Small Businesses

LCM is the brainchild of Scott Martineau of Infusionsoft (Learn more here). This framework walks you through the entire lifecycle of a businesses customer acquisition, fulfillment, and referral processes.

I’ll be the first to admit that LCM was meant for small businesses. It might be too simple for businesses with multiple business lines and divisions. What it can do for small businesses however is truly amazing.

LCM allows you to systematically approach a small businesses sales and marketing strategy which helps you explore the holes in the businesses current operating plan and work through the strategic issues of filling those holes.

In my opinion, this strategic consulting framework is great for established small businesses with 2-25 employees and 250k – 5mm in revenue.

If you consult with small businesses, take a look at LCM and offer your comments below on how well it can help you with your next small business consulting gig.
